The QuintEssential Winds will present a free concert at Capital University’s Huntington Recital Hall on Wednesday, March 14 at 7:30 pm.
Guest bass clarinetist Bill Denza will join the quintet for Janacek’s Mladi (“Youth”) and the premiere of Mark Flugge’s Chorale and Fantasy for Woodwind Sextet. Dr. Barry Kopetz will conduct Hartmann’s Serenade for 8 winds and double bass.
Quintet members are Lisa Jelle, flute; Steve Secan, oboe; Gail Lehto Zugger, clarinet; Kimberly McCann, horn; Christopher Weait, bassoon. Bill Denza, clarinet; Sarah Cooper, horn; Gwendolyn Ohlemacher, bassoon; and Capital Faculty Heather Beers, double bass, will also perform on the Hartmann Serenade.
