Capital University Athletics, in partnership with the Alumni Varsity “C” organization, will induct four of its former student-athletes into the Athletics Hall of Fame and honor two other alumni at the Capital University Athletics Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday, February 4, beginning at 10 am.

Marilyn (Burkley) Noll ’86, who served as office administrator in the athletic department for 26 years, will be recognized with the Crusader Distinguished Service Award for Athletics for her service to Capital athletics.

Anthony Pusateri ’73, a former student-athlete with nearly 40 years of experience working in high school and college athletics throughout Ohio, will receive the Hugo Wenzel Award of Merit for his dedication and loyalty to the university.

Katie (Mang) Carter ’95, Kendra (Meyer) Hunter ’01 and Carmen (Ellis) Little ’95, who all competed for the women’s basketball team, and former two-sport athlete James “Bruce” McGinnis ’55 form the 34th induction class.

A member of the Capital women’s basketball team from 1991-95, Carter was a key member of the 1994 and 1995 NCAA Division III Championship teams as well as the 1993 runner-up. She recorded 12 points to help the Crusaders defeat Wisconsin-Oshkosh 59-55 in the 1995 title game on March 18 at Alumni Gymnasium. A deadly 3-point shooter, Carter shot 40.6 percent from long range for her career and twice led the Ohio Athletic Conference in 3-point shooting.

Little was a teammate of Carter’s from 1992-95 and also a key contributor for the two national championship teams. She earned first team All-OAC and NCAA Division III All-Tournament honors in 1994, then earned both All-OAC and All-America accolades in 1995. Little currently holds program records for blocks in a game (7) and a season (51), and is 13th on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,029 points.

Hunter, who played from 1997-2001, is one of the most decorated athletes in school history. She is a three-time Kodak first team All-American and four-time All-OAC first team pick. Hunter, who racked up 1,666 points and 1,007 rebounds during her career, led the Crusaders to 86 wins and two NCAA Tournament appearances and was named to the 2001 CoSIDA Academic All-America third team.

A four-year starter on the Capital football team, McGinnis amassed 1,237 rushing yards during his career, throughout which he also contributed on defense and special teams. He was named team MVP in 1953 and was selected as a captain in 1954. McGinnis, who was also a two-year member of the junior varsity basketball team, graduated in Capital’s first-ever ROTC class.

Scheduled events for the day include a reception, brunch and awards ceremony, followed by a men’s-women’s basketball doubleheader against Heidelberg, which begins with the men’s game at 2 pm.

Tickets for the entire event, including admission to both basketball games, are $20. There is no charge for children under age 10.
