Student Identification Cards

Capital University photo I.D. cards are necessary in order to gain library privileges at the Capital University Library, to use campus computers, and to participate in Book Buyback at the Capital Bookstore. In order to obtain your I.D. card, you must be enrolled in a University of Dayton graduate class on the Capital campus. Once you have obtained a Capital ID card, the card will be activated any term that you are enrolled in a University of Dayton class held on the Capital University campus. Questions may be directed to the Capital/UD office at 614-236-6871 or email udayton@capital.edu.

There is no fee for the original ID card. Replacements are $25.00, regardless of whether the card is lost or stolen. The fee must be paid at the Capital University Finance Office in Yochum Hall. The receipt must be presented to the IT department in order to receive a replacement card. There is no fee for replacing broken cards, as long as all of the name, ID number, and photo are present and readable on the broken card.

To Obtain Your ID

Summer Term: Students enrolled in the summer term may obtain their ID card through July 31st. Due to renovations, the IT Desk is temporarily located in the lobby of Battelle Hall.
Fall Term: Students wishing to obtain an ID card may do so after August 20th.

Go to the Information Technology Department (lower level of Library) to obtain your ID card. Note: If you have registered late for classes, you may not appear on the current roster provided by the UD office to the Capital IT Department. In this case, you will need to come to the office, 101 Ruff Learning Center, for an authorization form, prior to going to the IT Department.

ID cards can be obtained during regular IT Service Desk hours.

After obtaining the photo ID card, take it to the front desk of the Capital University Library, to have the bar code activated.
