The Multicultural Affairs Office serves as a valuable resource to the university and students and is committed to building an inclusive campus environment through programming that fosters an appreciation and respect for the culture, history and traditions of all people.
The mission of the MAO is to provide educational and cultural leadership for university initiatives aimed at supporting and developing a diverse and inclusive community. As an advocate for underrepresented populations, the MAO plans, implements and evaluates programs related to the recruitment, matriculation, retention and success of students, especially multicultural and first-generation.
To increase the number as well as the diversity of multicultural and inclusive experiences on campus and bring members of the Capital community together to discuss, celebrate and acknowledge the commonalities and differences that each of us contributes to Capital’s collective culture.
