    • Biography

      Mark Andrew Baker is a professor of Voice and the director of Opera/Musical Theater. He has been teaching studio voice for more than 25 years. As a professional performer, he is credited with more than 60 leading roles with opera companies, including Peter in Hansel and Gretel, Sulpice in La Fille duRegiment and Alcindoro/Benoit in La Boheme with the Dayton Opera. He performed with the Baltimore Symphony as a featured soloist in the 100th gala performance of African Portraits where he shared the stage with James Earl Jones, Montel Williams and others. In 2003, he was the inaugural recipient of Artist of the Year from Opera Columbus, a testament to his more than 20 years of performing in Central Ohio.
