Griffin, Natale Push Crusaders to Shutout Win

2013 - Griffin 530px                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       The Capital University baseball team won its third straight game Thursday, defeating Alma (Mich.) by a 5-0 score in a non-conference contest at Chain of Lakes Park in Winter Haven, Fla.

Senior pitcher Garrett Griffin (Grandview, Ohio) earned the complete-game shutout victory, tossing all seven innings of the contest. He surrendered just one hit in his second appearance of the season and first win.

Senior infielder Brandon Natale (Westerville, Ohio) was 5-for-5 with a run batted in to lead the offense.

Capital (3-3 overall) continues play tomorrow against Augustana (Ill.). First pitch is set for 10 a.m. at Lake Myrtle Park Field #2 in Auburndale, Fla.
