Capital University's Conservatory of Music will present Spring is Almost Here, featuring University bands the Wind Symphony and Symphonic Winds, at 3 pm Sunday, March 16, in Mees Hall on Capital's Bexley campus, 1 College and Main. The performance is free and open to the public.
Barry E. Kopetz will conduct. Selections will include:
Symphonie for Band, Louis E. Jadin, First Suite in F, Thom Ritter George; Two Chorale Preludes: Behold, a Rose is Blooming and God, Thou Faithful God, Johannes Brahms; Flat Out and Wide Open, Barry E. Kopetz; Toccata and Fugue in D minor, Johann Sebastian Bach; Je dis que rien ne m’épouvante from Carmen, Gorges Bizet, featuring soprano Emily Totedo; Concertino for Four Percussion and Wind Ensemble, David Gillingham, featuring soloists John Einsweiler, Ryan Folger, Thomas Hall, Andrew Missler, Matt Heim; and more.
