You came to Capital University to learn, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take some time to play, too.
Capital's intramural and club sports are being organized for the fall 2012 semester. The intramural office is looking for players, officials and sports fans to participate in the seven intramural sports that have been organized. Here is a list of sports, a schedule of meeting times and corresponding locations. Basketball
6 to 9 pm Mondays and Thursdays, September 10 through October 18 at The Capital Center
Dodgeball
6 to 9 pm Tuesdays and Wednesdays, September 11 through October 3 at The Capital Center
Sand Volleyball
5 to 7 pm Mondays and Fridays, September 17 through October 12 at the sand volleyball court near Schaaf Hall
Zumba
6 to 8 pm Sundays and Tuesdays, September 16 through October 12 at The Capital Center
Ultimate Frisbee
5 to 7 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays September 11 through October 4 on the lawn east of Renner Hall
Racquetball
Times and dates are to be determined. The location is the Jewish Community Center of Greater Columbus
Flag Football
4 to 7 pm Sundays and Wednesdays September 9 through October 10 on the law east of Renner Hall
If you don't have a team, add your name to the Free Agent List during the entry week of the particular sport you're interested in so the office can give your name and contact information to teams that need players.
On a related note, Carrie Hauser, area director with the Office of Residential and Commuter Life, is trying to form a faculty/staff intramural volleyball team for the fall semester to give employees a new way to connect with students outside of the office and a fun way to get involved with Capital. She needs four to eight more people to sign up to be able in order to form a team.
If you are interested in signing up, contact Carrie at chauser1522@capital.edu, and send her your name, nickname, Capital ID number, volleyball experience (even if you don't have any), along with days and nights you wouldn’t be able to play. Please do this by Wednesday, September 5, to meet the registration deadline.
