Columbus police continue to investigate the fatal shooting of 31-year-old Willie Casie early Thursday morning at a Central Ohio Transit Authority bus stop in the 2000 block of E. Main Street between Nelson Road and Alum Creek Drive and across from Kroger.
No one from the Capital University community is believed to be involved. No arrests have been made, and there is no apparent motive for the shooting. The immediate threat to campus safety is over, according to Capital police. Main Street between Nelson and Alum Creek remains closed at this time.
Capital University's Safety Bulletin recently was updated with information regarding an ongoing homicide investigation at the corner of Alum Creek Drive and Main Street near the Bexley campus. Police are searching for the suspect who is believed to be armed and dangerous.
Columbus Police are investigating. According to police, the suspect — described as a black male wearing a red muscle shirt — fled the scene and was last seen running north. No information about the victim is available at this time. Please avoid the area and call 911 if you see someone matching the description of the suspect.
