As a part of the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, the Office of Student and Community Engagement is again collecting coats and other cold-weather necessities to donate to The Open Shelter through Friday, November 22.

This year we are also collecting toys for Toys for Tots. Donation bins are located in each residence hall, the library, Yochum Hall, The Capital Center and Huber-Spielman Hall. Items needed include jackets, coats, hats, gloves, mittens, scarves and toys of any kind.

On Thursday, November 14, from 10 am to 2 pm, donate any of these items in the Student Union Lobby in exchange for a raffle ticket for a $25 gift card.

Reminder: Please join us for the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, when we'll unveil the number of clothing items collected. The Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, November 20, at 6 pm on the Plaza.

You and your family are invited to us for carol singing with Philomel, hot drinks and seasonal refreshments, brief remarks, the lighting of the tree and pictures with Santa in the Harry C. Moores Student Union Lobby.
