Update: Police gave the "all clear" at 11:21 pm Saturday. The suspect has not been found, and no arrest has been made. Please continue to use caution.

Original post: Bexley police are investigating a reported armed robbery near the Bexley campus at approximately 10 pm Saturday, August 2. According to police, a male at Congregation Torat Emet, located at 2375 E Main St., in Bexley, was approached by a suspect who tried to rob him as he tried to enter his car. A struggle followed, and the suspect, who reportedly was armed with a knife, fled toward Bernlohr Stadium. The victim reportedly was cut on the face during the struggle. According to police, the suspect was last seen heading toward Francis Avenue, where police continue to search. The suspect is described as an African American male in his 20s wearing a white sweatshirt, possibly with short sleeves.
