Everyone needs help once in a while. All you have to do is ask.
Peer Tutoring is a free service provided by the Center for Excellence in Learning and Teaching that can help you succeed. You’ll learn to read more closely, write more critically and think more effectively.
Individual and group tutoring begins at the start of each semester. To schedule an appointment, stop in to CELT on the second floor of the Blackmore Library, or call us at 236-6327.
Want more personalized attention? Download a copy of the Tutor Yellow Pages (PDF - Capital login required) to find a tutor for your course and set up an individual appointment.
You can also attend one of our regularly scheduled Study and Review sessions or Supplemental Instruction sessions. These course-specific sessions are designed to give you with more opportunities for study, review and test prep. You can drop in on these sessions – no appointment needed.
We will be offering a Student Success Series of workshops this semester. Stay tuned for a list of topics, dates and times.
The Writing Center
“I didn't have time to write a short letter, so I wrote a long one instead.” We don’t have Mark Twain on staff, but we will help you tighten up your writing into clean, concise and coherent academic prose. Drop in or call us at 236-6327 to make an appointment with a Writing Consultant. You can also search for and book your own writing consultation by going to tutortrac.capital.edu. Just use your Capital username and student ID to log in and click on Search Availabilities.
Applying to graduate school? The CELT Writing Center is working with the Career Development office to also help with your personal statement for your application. Just stop by the CELT office or give us a call at 236-6327 to schedule an appointment.
