I am excited you have made Capital University your choice in furthering your education. As you know Capital University cheerleaders are some of the best in the state of Ohio. Being a Crusader cheerleader can be a rewarding experience. It's a chance to meet new people and

establish lifelong friendships, travel, be visible on campus and in the community, and to be an active participant at numerous sporting events. The CU cheerleading program prides itself on being honest, respected and a program with integrity. Members of the Cap cheerleading squad are expected to be ambassadors of Capital University.
All cheerleaders cheer at all home & selected away football games, men's and women's home basketball games, the Ohio Athletic Conference tournaments and various university and community service events. The Capital football program remains a powerhouse, and the Capital men’s and women’s basketball programs are also consistently ranked among the region's elite. The Capital men are the reigning OAC champions!
Depending on the athletic schedule, cheerleaders will be required to cheer games during semester breaks, spring break, and university scheduled holidays as well as some national holidays. Capital University is a member of the NCAA Division III. We don't offer scholarships for cheerleading but the university does furnish our uniforms. Practice attire, shoes, warm-ups, bags, camp attendance and all other personal items are the responsibility of each girl. A list of expenses will be given to each girl shortly after the team is selected in April.
All squad members selected are required to attend all practices during the fall and spring semesters. Practices are held 1-2 times a week for 2-3 hours at a time. Warm up practices are also held prior to each game and lastly, cheerleaders will be expected to participate in scheduled team activities and appearances. You are required to schedule work around practice and games, not the other way around.
A spring tryout will be held to secure the entire cheerleading program. The number of positions to be filled is contingent on the number of students who meet the tryout requirements. What am I looking for at tryouts? I want someone who really loves to cheer!!
You will find more general information regarding tryouts for the 2013-2014 season the weekend of April 5-April 7, 2013, at
this link. Please feel free to look over this packet and contact me if you have any further questions. Please email me at

I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT OUR TRYOUTS, GOOD LUCK!
GO CAP!
