In most cases, it is best for students to schedule their own appointments by calling 614-236-6114. Students will be asked for their name, presenting concerns, and level of urgency by the reception staff who will triage the student for services. When students call it is important for them to let reception staff know if it is an urgent situation or not so that they can be seen in an appropriate time frame. In urgent situations, we meet with students the same day.
If you are particularly concerned about a student, you may encourage them to schedule while they are still with you or walk them to the CHW. After CHW hours, contact a member of the Residential and Commuter Life Staff or Public Safety at 614-236-6666, and they can contact the CHW on-call staff member.
Faculty and staff are often concerned about what happens to students after they refer them to the CHW. This certainly is an understandable, caring reaction. However, CHW staff adheres to legal and professional confidentiality parameters. This means that:
