We have wiki, blog, and podcasting building blocks added to Blackboard and additional podcasting abilities through Capital's iTunesU space.
Wikis are collaborative web spaces where everyone can access and edit the same page. Everyone is responsible for the content and there is a histroy of everyones edits.
Blogs work like online journals allowing students or faculty to post contnet that is meant to be updated regularly. Others can be allowed to comment on each entry or reply to each others comments.
A podcast is a digital audio or video file that is downloaded to a computer so that someone can listen or watch it whenever they want. We have limited resources for creating podcasts but we will work with professors to help them create video and audio content. We can recommend free software to record audio files and we have USB headsets with microphones available for checkout. We have two major tools used to support podcasting once files are created: iTunes U and the Podcasting feature in Blackboard. If you would like more information about wikis, blogs, or podcasting please contact the Autumm Caines at firstname.lastname@example.org.
