Careers for English Majors
  • Whether entering the work force or heading for graduate school, Capital's English majors leave the university well prepared. Recent graduates have been employed in public relations, publishing, the ministry, politics, computer documentation and technical writing. Capital also maintains an excellent record of teacher placement for English education majors.

    For those students who are continuing their education, literature, creative writing and professional writing are options. English also is a highly recommended major for anyone planning graduate study in law, theology or business.

    Graduates of the professional writing/journalism program can find employment in a wide variety of fields including journalism, technical writing, editing, teaching, administration, social work and business.
