Admitted High School Student Checklist

Use this checklist to help you through the enrollment process.

	Visit Capital Make the trek and visit campus. We offer several group visits and personalized visit days.
	Receive Merit Scholarships and Grants All accepted students will be notified of scholarship eligibility. If you are a music student your scholarship letter will be sent to you after your audition. 100% of full time daytime accepted students receive a merit scholarship from Capital. Make sure your admission file is up to date by turning in December and February test scores.
	Submit the FAFSA The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is your key to Capital University, state and federal money. Capital's financial aid code is 003023 and you should file the FAFSA as soon as possible. Get a PIN (you can apply for a PIN anytime) Complete the FAFSA online
	Review Your Financial Aid Award Financial aid awards will be mailed and available online for review in the spring. The award will tell you your total cost to attend Capital next year. Your admission counselor will be calling you and your family to answer any questions and explain our payment options.
	Send Your Enrollment Deposit Your next step is to reserve your spot in the entering class. You must submit an advance deposit of $300 as a residential student or $200 as a commuting student no later than May 1. This payment is refundable upon written request until May 1, and is applied towards your annual fee. If you are unable to make your deposit by May 1, please call the admission office to discuss your options. May 1 is the national college selection deadline and deposits received after this date may be waitlisted. Pay the enrollment deposit online.
	Become an Official Capital Student Upon receipt of your deposit a letter will be mailed to you in the spring with information regarding important documents that need to be completed over the summer.
	Select an Orientation Date We offer two great programs for you. Summer orientation allows you to meet faculty, schedule classes and meet fellow Crusaders! Fall orientation starts the Thursday before classes and includes the traditional Gate Ceremony and Family picnic. Register for orientation online.
	Send Your Final High School Transcript Please have your high school forward your final high school transcript reflecting your graduation date.
	Forward Your Advanced Placement Tests/College Courses Have official results of your advanced placement tests and official transcripts of college classes mailed to Capital. Get Connected Join our Class of 2017 Facebook page to start meeting your classmates and future roommate! Set Up Your Capital Email Account You will receive an e-mail from Information Technology (IT) titled “Your Capital University Account”. The e-mail contains information on retrieving your account and setting a new password. Please set-up your e-mail account prior to attending orientation.
