What it Takes
  • The Honors Program is open to all full-time undergraduate students of all majors. To be considered for the Honors Program:

    • Incoming first-year students must have an ACT composite of at least a 28 or SAT 1250 from the critical reading and math scores, and complete an application.
    • Current Capital students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher as a full-time student at Capital, and complete an application.

    To graduate from the Honors Program, you must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete:

    • At least four Honors experiences (through honors seminars, honors sections of general education courses or departmental courses that are designated as Honors). Study abroad and study away (internships, service learning projects, etc.) may be counted as one of the required experiences with the submission of the learning portfolio.
    • Honors 305 and Honors 405: This is a junior or senior level capstone experience. Students will conduct scholarship on a topic of their choice under the guidance of a Capital faculty advisor.
