Admission to Master of Arts in Education
  • Application Process

    The first step in the process is to complete and send the following to the Adult & Graduate Education Office:

    In addition to the completed application form and pieces mentioned above, we will also need the following items to complete your application file:

    • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities previously attended
    • 3 letters of recommendation (Link Form), Note that one of these must be from a school administrator
    • Copy of teaching license

    Admission Requirements

    Once your application file is complete we will review everything that you have submitted to make an informed decision regarding admission into the Master of Arts in Education program. To be considered for admission, you must meet three basic requirements:

    • You must be a practicing, licensed teacher;
    • You must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; and,
    • You must have earned a minimum 3.0 GPA.

    But, we also believe you’re more than you GPA. So, the admission committee carefully considers other factors in an attempt to gather a full picture of your capabilities as a teacher and a potential graduate student.
    We also require successful completion of Praxis II, PLT or comparable state mandated test.

    Deadlines

    Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. We recommend adhering to the following schedule, though application review and admission will continue beyond these dates as space permits:

    Application deadline for summer trimester (May)

    July 1

    Application deadline for fall trimester (August)
