      Young pianists aging from 6 to 18 are invited to attend Piano Day at Capital University on Saturday, January 27, 2018. Come and celebrate Mozart’s birthday with the Conservatory of Music's keyboard faculty. 

      The day's events will include: Competitions with cash awards, master classes, practice coaching sessions, presentations, Q & A on majoring in music and career possibilities, and evening concerts  – all in one fun and productive day! Participants will work closely with our faculty, to experience enriched pianistic techniques, musicality and artistic growth. 

      Teachers and parents are welcome to join the audience in the competitions, presentations, the Q & A session and the evening concert.

      The application fee for the event is $30 and all participants must fill out this registration form. Please carefully read and follow the instructions to ensure a successful registration.

      Registration Deadline: Entries must be RECEIVED by or on Monday, January 8, 2018

      Registration Instruction:

      1. Print the registration form and fill it out completely, please write clearly.
      2. Mail a check of $30 non-refutable registration fee, payable to, and the complete registration form to: You will receive an email confirmation when both your registration form and check have been received. The package must be RECEIVED by or on JANUARY 8TH, MONDAY, 2018.
      3. Applicants who choose to participate in the competition must provide a clean published copy of the music to the judges. Violators will be disqualified from the competition.

      Competition Categories and Repertoire:

      Elementary Division (6 to 10 years old as of 1/27/2018)

      • One original solo piano composition of choice.
      • More than one movement from the same sonata, sonatina or suite is counted as one
      • composition.
      • Memorization is required.
      • The time limit is 5 minutes.

      Junior Division (11-14 years old as of 1/27/2018)

      • One original solo piano composition of choice.
      • More than one movement from the same sonata, sonatina or suite is counted as one
      • composition.
      • Memorization is required.
      • The time limit is 8 minutes.

      Senior Division (15-18 years old as of 1/27/2018)

      • One original solo piano composition of choice.
      • More than one movement from the same sonata, sonatina or suite is counted as one
      • composition.
      • Memorization is required.
      • The time limit is 10 minutes.

      Elementary Division
      1st Prize, $100
      2nd Prize, $50
      3rd Prize, $25

      Junior Division
      1st Prize, $150
      2nd Prize, $75
      3rd Prize, $50

      Senior Division
      1st Prize, $200
