Single/dual subject licensure is a program that allows individuals to teach in one or two science areas: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science. The integrated science program licenses individuals to teach life science (biology), chemistry, earth/space science, and physics to grades 7 through 12. This provides individual with tremendous flexibility in job opportunities following graduation.
The Biological and Environmental Sciences Department works directly with Capital University`s Education Department on programs leading to adolescent to young adult education licensure in biology, earth science, and integrated science (biology, chemistry, earth science, and physics). Our program provides students with an extensive foundation in the life and physical sciences within a liberal-arts framework. Students leave the program with a broad basis of knowledge and the flexibility to perform additional work to obtain a master's degree in education or a specific discipline area.
