Student Organization Registration
  • We would like to make the registration process as easy as possible for all parties involved. We have supplied a checklist of what you need to have in order to re-register your group or to become a recognized group.

    Re-register an Existing Organization

    Re-registration for the 2013-2014 academic year begins Monday, April 15, 2013 and concludes Friday, September 6, 2013 at 5pm:
     

    1. Fill out the 2013-2014 Student Organization Registration Form through the link below.
       
    2. Give the Office of Student and Community Engagement a complete roster based on the roster template available here and e-mailed to sce@capital.edu. To be a recognized group your organization must have at least 10 members.
       
    3. Turn in an updated Constitution (if it has been changed during the last academic year) to sce@capital.edu.
       

    Register a New Organization

    1. Meet with a professional staff member in the Office of Student and Community Engagement to discuss your group and how it will benefit student life.
       
    2. Complete the 2013-2014 Student Organization Registration form. All groups are required to have an advisor that is a full-time Capital University faculty or staff member. 
       
    3. Give the Office of Student and Community Engagement a complete roster based on the roster template available here and e-mailed to sce@capital.edu. To be a recognized group your organization must have at least 10 members.
       
    4. Turn in a constitution to sce@capital.edu. A sample constitution will be given to you upon request when you initially meet about your organization idea.
       
    5. Your registration paperwork & constitution will be reviewed by the Office of Student and Community Engagement 
                                   
    6. A recognition status letter will be sent to the group president and advisor by the director of Student and Community Engagement.
       
    7. Once you are recognized you will need to re-register every year by the fall semester deadline to maintain your recognition.

    Please Note: For the purposes of the Student Organization Directory, the name and email of the president/chief executive officer will be considered PUBLIC information.
