Presidential Search
The search is underway to find the 18th president of Capital University to succeed President Dave Kaufman, who announced he will retire at the end of his fifth year as president on June 30, 2025.
Selecting a president is one of the most important responsibilities of the Board of Trustees, and attracting a highly qualified and talented pool of candidates for the position is of utmost importance. The Board of Trustees has appointed a search committee to conduct the search and engaged an executive search firm, Academic Search, to partner and assist in the process. The search committee includes trustees, faculty, administrative, staff, and student representatives, several of whom are also Capital alumni.
The search committee, with input from the Capital community and in collaboration with our search partners from Academic Search, has developed a prospectus to introduce Capital University and the presidential opportunity to potential candidates. Applications should be submitted by March 27, 2025, for best consideration.
