I earned my Ph.D. at the Ohio State University in marketing international business and have taught in the areas of management of international operations, marketing management, marketing research, international marketing, management strategy, advertising, personal selling, and international business. I have taught at both the undergraduate and graduate levels both in the United States and overseas.My teaching philosophy is based on an ideal of “whole person” education. My primary objective, as a teacher, is to help students to develop the knowledge, skills and individual qualities necessary for a successful career and a rewarding personal life. I feel business students should be taught that a truly successful businessperson is one who is competent and responsible.Prior to joining the faculty of Capital, I was a Full Professor at the University of Akron. After my retirement I was awarded Professor Emeritus rank there. Additionally I have been a full-time faculty member at The University of Southern California and Kent State University. I was the Director of the Kent State University’s international program in Geneva, Switzerland where I supervised the activities of 8 faculty members and 51 students.I have taught in Vietnam, New Zealand, Croatia and Switzerland; and have lived in England, Taiwan, Japan and Germany. In addition, I have taught in the Semester-at-Sea’s around the world voyage sponsored at that time by the University of Virginia. I am actively expanding my involvement with the central Ohio business community. I am a founding member of the local chapter of the Product Development and Management Association, and am active in the Columbus American Marketing Association chapter. I formerly served on the Board of the International Visitors Council.I’m retired from the US Air Force as a Senior Command Pilot having served a total of 29 years in both active and reserve assignments.
