Opportunity
Today’s legal culture demands excellence and the ability to successfully keep up with change. Laws, procedures, technology, client demands, law firm demands, corporate requirements, and governmental oversights – just to name a few – are constantly changing. In this ever-changing environment, Paralegals are a crucial member of any legal team. At Capital Law, we equip our students with the foundational and practical skills paralegals need to adapt to these changes and to provide the best services to clients in a family business or Fortune 500 company, state or federal agency, or a large or small law firm.
The Paralegal program at Capital University is uniquely situated in our law school – a fact that distinguishes us from most other ABA-approved paralegal programs. What does this mean to you? It means opportunity - to network with the legal community inside and outside the classroom, and to participate in programs, seminars, hearings, and other events provided by the Law School community. We provide you with access to a fully-serviced Law Library and electronic research databases. Capital Law also gives you professional development opportunities designed specifically for someone entering the legal profession.
Capital’s paralegal program provides a rigorous curriculum steeped in critical thinking and application in practical assignments and in-class discussions. We teach law fundamentals – contracts, torts, real property, business organizations, ethics, and probate. We also teach practical skills – legal research and writing, civil litigation, eDiscovery, and legal technology. Our expert faculty consists of attorneys, paralegals, and other practicing legal professionals from the Columbus community.
