Dark Matters

  • In July 2020, Dr. Lynda Hasseler, and the Conservatory of Music’s choral department initiated a project to support the creation of a new choral work by commissioning poet, Samiya Bashir, and composer Joel Thompson. Together they created Dark Matters, a seven-minute work for choir and piano. We invite you to hear the world premiere of this challenging, complex, and meaningful work on April 29, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. in Mees Hall. You don’t want to miss this moment. The concert, which will also feature a performance by guest artist, Karen Slack is free and open to the public. We hope to see you there!

Unable to join us in person? Watch the world premiere of Dark Matters on the Capital University YouTube channel!
