Description
Capital Athletics is looking for energetic, motivated and positive individuals that are fluent in sport and Capital’s sports teams to develop a student broadcasting team. Opportunities for play-by-play commentary and color analysis for video and audio-only broadcasts are available, based on talent.
Responsibilities
Those interested will engage in training with the sports information director (and possibly third-party broadcasters) before going on-air. Broadcasters will typically work in two-person teams, but may need to work solo at times. Sports that will be covered include men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s lacrosse, baseball, softball, and volleyball. There may be additional work available for voiceovers and on-site “coaches show” events, as well as pre- and postgame interviews.
Qualifications
Please submit highlight reel or samples of work to rgasser@capital.edu ... previous TV/radio/on-air experience preferred, but not required ... comfort in front of a camera and/or microphone ... knowledge in rules and strategy of sport(s) ... must be able to work nights and weekends.
