Don't Blame the Turkey on Your Laziness- Blame College.

I usually don't post without having somewhat of a storyline or interesting event to share. Sorry to say, I don't think there will be any rhyme or reason to this post. Wouldn't is be funny if it rhymed though? Joe?

This weekend was relaxing and fun. Papers and tests and speeches galore won't loom over my head until AFTER thanksgiving break- so I've taken comfort in having nothing in particular to do these past two days. Friday we had a FISCh retreat in Strongsville, Ohio. FISCh is Friends In Serving Christ- We are a religious group at Capital that does lock-ins, retreats and other ministries for Ohio youth groups. Think church camp without the summer. Being a church camp counselor myself, I had a very enjoyable time staying up til the wee hours of the morning with these high-schoolers. Ahhh high school- those were the days.

With the staying up late Friday night came my desire to do absolutely nothing Saturday afternoon. This desire made me(GASP!) not feel like going somewhere and watching the OSU/Michigan game with friends. I don't think this was very legal being in Columbus and all- but I enjoyed my Saturday cuddled up in my bed watching the game in my pajamas. Gooooo Bucks!... yawn.

Saturday evening included two very fun events with my friend, Nicole. After sipping coffee, listening to music, and talking for 2 hours at Radio Cafe across the street, we went late night "x-treme" bowling. I don't know what constitutes "x-treme" anymore. We bowled with friends, snacked on some soft pretzels, put on those smelly shoes and barely bowled a 100. I guess it was kinda x-treme- not really jumping out of a plane x-treme...but I guess the all-you-can-bowl concept for 10-2am was somewhat intense.

As did Friday night, Saturday night's x-treme fun led to x-treme laziness today. God bless roommate bonding time in the form of 2-hour naps. I'm really teaching Kate the art of napping- annnnd I think shes converting to "my" side. bwah ha ha....yawn.

This shall be my last post before Thanksgiving break. I hope you all have a fabulous holiday. Give thanks but don't eat too much---and don't blame the turkey on your tiredness. I learned in Psychology that turkey really isn't a huge source of triptophan. Your tiredness most likely comes just from overeating...or from the sight of a huge pile of dishes...or as I have learned- long college weeks. Don't jump the gun on that whole "long winter's nap" thing. The Macy's parade, couch and the football games will be there all day long.

Alright- it is almost 8pm and "I Love The Holidays" will be on VH1 shortly. Ahhhh- commentation on pop-culture. If only it could be my career.....
