Transfer Nursing applicants enrolling in the fall semester should complete their admission application by March. The Admission Committee will begin review of completed applications at the end of March for the limited number of spaces in the transfer nursing class.
Prospective Nursing Student Recommended Admission Criteria
Acceptance into the nursing program is based on the following criteria:
- Successful Completion of Algebra II, Biology and Chemistry
Fall 2009 incoming nursing class:
- Average ACT Composite = 24.2
- Average SAT Composite = 1086
Prospective Nursing Transfer Student Admission Criteria
Regional accreditation of prior college(s) or university(ies)
Cumulative GPA from all prior institutions of 3.5 or better
Prior course work in the sciences to be applied to Capital's nursing curriculum must have an overall average of 2.75 or better and have been completed within the last 5 years. The following courses are recommended prior to admission: Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Statistics, Human nutrition, Psychology, Organic or Biochemistry and Lifespan development.
If enrolled in another nursing program, a letter of recommendation is required by the Dean of Nursing
Transfer students need to have a completed application submitted to the Capital University Admission Office no later than March to be considered for the Fall semester.
Bachelor of Science of Nursing Completion (RN to BSN)
Register Nurses (RN) can complete their bachelor of science in nursing degree through Capital's School of Nursing.
Nursing Accelerated Program
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Apply to Capital's School of Nursing for a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) and choose from four different concentrates, including Nursing Education. Our MSN program accepts new students for fall semester only.
