Columbus
A Capital City!
If you live in Ohio—or even if you don’t—you may know what a great city Columbus is. To work in. To play in. To learn in.
Because of so many recreational activities and businesses, Columbus is a great place to attend college. Learn why.
One thing you should know about Columbus: people love it here. It boasts the benefits of a big city with the friendly feel of a mid-sized town. And it’s an extension of our campus.
Whatever you enjoy, you’ll find it in Columbus.
For arts and culture buffs, the Columbus Symphony, the Short North—a thriving downtown arts and shopping district — and plenty of live theater. We’re a stop for traveling Broadway companies and many big-name musical groups.
For sports fans, two major league professional teams—the Blue Jackets (hockey) and the Columbus Crew (soccer) and our much-loved AAA baseball team, the Clippers.
For foodies, we can offer everything from serious, upscale cuisine (for when your parents are in town to pick up the tab) to pizza and burgers. Yes, we’re the birthplace of Wendy’s and White Castle, but you haven’t lived until you’ve tried the Thurman Burger. And for all you morning people, the New York Post has dubbed us the Breakfast Mecca of the Midwest.
Outdoor enthusiasts, you can revel in a city filled with beautiful parks, rivers and lakes, visit the Franklin Conservatory and Botanical Gardens or the Columbus Park of Roses, or hike or bike the Olentangy Trail.
And did we mention we have the #1 rated zoo and library system in the country?
For those who want a job after graduation (that would be everyone except those who plan to go directly to grad school), there are five U.S. Fortune 500 corporations here, we’re in the top 30 on Forbes' Best Places for Business and Careers 2014, and our economy is diverse — education, government, insurance, banking, fashion, defense, aviation, food, logistics, steel, energy, medical research, health care, hospitality, retail and tech.
If you haven’t been to Columbus, we hope you’ll check it out. We think you’ll like what you see. So much that you’ll want to join the thousands of Capital alumni who have chosen to stay here after graduation.
Bexley
Bexley
Capital established its permanent address in Bexley in 1876 following a move from downtown Columbus, and the village of Bexley was incorporated in 1908. Today, its streets are mostly residential with more than 4,000 households in the 2.5-square-mile city.
Located about three miles from Downtown Columbus, Bexley is a historic and close-knit community known for its neighborhood atmosphere, its highly ranked public school system (hear that, Education majors?), its classic walkable (and thriving) Main Street environment, the prestigious private schools located within its borders, and its status as the home of Capital University.

Our Bexley neighbors frequent campus to take in our many theater, music and athletic events, to be moved by the latest Schumacher Gallery exhibition or enriched by a keynote lecture, to relax near Reflections fountain, enjoy a summer movie on the Capital Green or to be dazzled by Fourth of July fireworks. Our roots are intertwined with Bexley's. It's a partnership built over more than 100 years, and it continues to grow.
