Your success is important and we make it personal.
Our Student Success Office is here for you
When you become a student at Capital, you join an inclusive campus environment designed with your development as a successful student — and as a whole person — in mind. In fact, student success is so important to us we created an entire Student Success hub. It’s located in the Ruff Learning Center. We also have the Student Success Office, which advocates for students and families on campus, working with students who may be having a difficult time transitioning to college, and who may be struggling with personal issues that could be hindering academic progress.
Student Resource Guide
No matter how talented you are, sooner or later you’re going to have questions. We want to make your life on campus easier, and your education more rewarding. Start here.

The main goal of Student Success is to make sure students are having the best experience possible at Capital and that concerns are being addressed. In addition, the
Student Success Office houses the
Student Success Coaching Program, which matches students with a mentor for the semester that can assist them with academic, social and personal problems and connect them to the appropriate campus and community resources.

Academic success and available opportunities
No matter how talented you are, sooner or later you’re going to have questions. So if you find yourself struggling academically—with an entire course or a specific assignment—you’re not alone. Our Academic Success team is here to help with tutoring and extra study sessions tailored to those tough courses. If your intellectual curiosity begs for more academic challenge, our Honors Program might be right for you. If your educational aspirations reach beyond the boundaries of our campus and country, you may want to look into our study abroad program. And if you want to get the most out of learning, explore undergraduate research, which we integrate into every field of study.
But it’s not always just about what you’re learning—we know that how you learn is just as important. That may be on a desktop, laptop or tablet. Technology will be a big part of your life here, and we’re going to make sure that you have what you need. Which we know, first and foremost, is 24/7 connectivity. Our campus-wide WiFi will be here for you, and our state-of-the art computer labs are located throughout campus. For those of you needing even more power, check out our Advanced Computational Laboratory and Battelle Visualization Laboratory.
The bottom line is this: Capital wants you to succeed. And we intend to do all we can to make it happen.
