COLUMBUS, OH — Capital University invites prospective high school students, as well as college students looking to transfer from another institution, to attend an upcoming fall open house and explore why Capital is a top choice for a personalized education, experiential learning, and the support to turn passion into purpose.
Fall Open Houses, which are open to students and families at all stages of the college search, will be held Monday, Oct. 19, Saturday, Nov. 7, and Thursday, Nov. 19, on the Bexley campus. The events are open to students and families at every stage of the college search and offer an inside look at what makes a Capital education distinctive.
During each Open House, students will have the opportunity to:
Connect with admission counselors and learn more about the college application and admission process.
Meet faculty members and explore academic programs through interactive sessions.
Experience campus firsthand through a guided tour led by Capital admission ambassadors.
Discover the Capital community and learn how personalized support and experiential learning help students turn their interests into meaningful opportunities.
“Visiting a campus is one of the best ways to get a sense of what you really like about a college and if it's a good fit,” said Derek Faasse, director of Undergraduate Admission. “Getting to see buildings and talk with professors gives you a close-up view of what the academic setting at a school is like, but there are also moments like eating in the dining hall, seeing a dorm room, or just talking with a current student that help you determine what your future will be like there. For our campus, a visit also means that students can experience what our unique location means to them – a home in Bexley while being only minutes away from the major city of Columbus.”
The oldest university in Central Ohio, Capital was recently recognized by several organizations as an outstanding institution for its student-focused approach designed to prepare graduates for what comes next, including:
The Princeton Review as one of the nation's academically best undergraduate institutions.
2026-27 College of Distinction reflecting a student-first philosophy
Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll for excellence in creating and supporting pathways for community college transfer students.
2027 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges, including a place among the top 50 Regional Universities in the Midwest and recognition as one of the region’s leading institutions for value.
