Biography

Tom Davis is an adjunct faculty member in the Conservatory of Music and the Jazz/Contemporary guitar department. He teaches applied jazz/contemporary guitar lessons and popular music classes, as well as leading the Capital University Rock Ensemble (C.U.R.E.), “Birdland” small jazz ensemble, and the guitar ensembles.
Davis performs in a variety of styles as both a bandleader and sideman throughout the US and UK, most regularly with local groups: Vaughn Weister’s Famous Jazz Orchestra, The Pete Mills B3 4-Tet, Willie Nelson Mandela, Flogo Shaggins, Ray Massa’s Eurorhythms, and several others.
While living in Edinburgh, Davis toured with top bands and performers in a variety of styles including award-winning jazz musicians Ali Affleck, Brian Kellock, and Dick Lee.
Davis has recorded extensively with artists in the US and UK, including albums by Ali Affleck, Dick Lee’s Swingtet, Flogo Shaggins, and Vaughn Weister’s Famous Jazz Orchestra.
