Our Masters of Music programs are designed for teachers like you. We understand that your work doesn’t end with the school year. If you are running a summer band program, you can enroll in one of our two summer sessions and still earn your master’s degree in only three summers. As a Jazz Pedagogy student, you have the opportunity to participate in the Conservatory’s Complete Band Director Workshop, a four-day event held each summer. The Workshop provides specialized instruction on how to establish, administer, and teach a well-balanced jazz band program. Not only will you learn valuable skills, but you can earn credit toward your degree.
Applications for the MMME Jazz Pedagogy program are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. Application deadline is June 1, but application review and admission will continue beyond this date as space permits. In addition to the application, the following documents should also be included:
-
A 200-300 writing sample
-
Resume or curriculum vitae
-
Official transcripts from all undergraduate and graduate coursework
-
Names of three references
International students must demonstrate language proficiency by meeting TOEFL requirements. Additional details about the application and admission requirements can be found by visiting the MMME main page.
