Biography

Kari E. Murphy is a Professor of Legal Writing at Capital University Law School, where she teaches Legal Analysis and Writing and Legal Drafting. Before joining the full-time faculty, she practiced law in Columbus, Ohio, where she led the personal injury practice at Walton + Brown LLP. Throughout her career, she has also served as Assistant Executive Director of the Columbus Bar Association and Statewide Program Director of the Law and Leadership Institute. In addition to her legal writing expertise, her work reflects a deep and ongoing commitment to access, equity, and professional development in the legal field. Professor Murphy is a trusted voice on these topics and is frequently invited to speak to bar associations, law firms, and other legal organizations.
