RE: Presidential Search Committee and Survey
Thank you to everyone who participated in the listening sessions over the last three days with our search consultants, Dr. Jay Lemons, Dr. Pam Balch, and Jennifer Kooken, from Academic Search. Your input will help guide the search committee in the establishment of the candidate criteria and in the search for Capital’s next president.
You can also be involved by filling out the anonymous survey we are conducting to solicit additional input for the search committee. The deadline to provide a survey response is Friday, January 17.
The election of a president is one of the most important responsibilities of the Capital University Board of Trustees. The Board, with deep respect for Capital’s tradition of shared governance, has engaged a Presidential Search Committee from a range of important stakeholders across the university community to lead this process. The Committee consists of 13 members, with seven Board members, three faculty members, one administrator, one staff member, and one student.
The trustees were selected by the Board chair; the faculty members were selected through a faculty vote; the administrator was recommended by the President’s Cabinet; the staff member was selected through a vote of the staff employees; and the student was recommended by the president. A trustee and faculty alternate were also selected.
