Professor Moran has been engaged in the private practice of law in Central Ohio since he was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1994, following his graduation from the Evening Division at Capital. He is a trial attorney handling criminal, civil, and administrative law cases, including significant personal injury and wrongful death, Second Amendment, and other matters for hearings, trials, and appeals. Professor Moran has served as an Adjunct Professor at Capital since 2002 and is currently teaching an advanced constitutional law seminar on the Second Amendment. He has taught in the J.D. Program, Paralegal and Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) Certificate Programs, and the Master of Legal Studies Program. He is proud to have trained a generation of outstanding paralegals who are Capital graduates. As an alumnus and true Capital supporter, he has served on various Law School committees, regularly attends campus events, created and supervised externships and internships, and hired Capital graduates. In addition to his private practice, Professor Moran serves as a City Court Magistrate for a Central Ohio Mayor’s Court, and as Solicitor & Prosecuting Attorney for the Village of Hartford since 1996. Professor Moran is also an entrepreneur, assisting in the management of and serving as General Counsel to various startup businesses, currently including a Columbus licensed private investigation and security agency, the largest commercial outdoor public shooting range in Southeast Ohio, and as VP / GC for a national boutique consulting company. As a firearms consultant, instructor, and armorer, he has served as an expert witness on firearms, use of force, and self-defense matters in criminal and civil actions.
