Capital University’s AI Guidebook

Capital’s AI Guidebook provides best practices, suggestions for use, resources, and activities related to using AI. The Guidebook was developed by the AI Team, whose charge was:

To develop an AI Guidebook for Capital and identify professional development sessions to help staff, faculty, and students use AI in business operations, work processes, and academic and scholarly activities in ways that maintain student and employee privacy and support the integrity of the work we do.

Development of the AI Guidebook was driven by several Guiding Principles as well as survey data provided by Capital staff and faculty (fall 2024) and Capital students (spring 2025). Guidebook sections were distributed to the campus community for review and input prior to publication. Suggestions for improving and updating the Guidebook can be sent to CELT@capital.edu.
