Blood and Boldily Fluid Spills

  • Pathogenic microorganisms such as viruses or bacteria that are present in human blood can cause disease. These include human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis B (HBV). 

    Steps to Follow
    • If you encounter blood, bodily fluid, vomit, urine, or feces, immediately contact Public Safety at 614-236-6666.
    • Public Safety will notify Facilities Management.
    • Facilities Management will dispatch housekeeping to clean, disinfect and dispose of blood/bodily fluids. All blood/bodily fluids should be disposed of using the Work Practice Controls for the disposal of blood/bodily fluid spills.
